Fees
My initial consultation is free and without any obligation so please do not hesitate to contact me
The rates I charge will depend on the services you request. I am more specialised in some areas than others and thus I charge an hourly rate according to my level of expertise. The rate will vary from around £10-£35 per hour depending on the service.
I prefer to work steadily and carefully rather than do rush-jobs. Thus I will charge an hourly rate high enough to give me plenty of latitude to run over time if I feel I need to, to get the job done properly. I will provide a quote based on the number of hours I expect to require. I will not charge you for any extra hours, thus you have the peace of mind knowing that the quote I give you will be the actual fee you will pay. In all cases I will be open and honest and transparent about my pricing. In many circumstances I also offer the following:
- No Fix, No Fee. If I cannot fix the problem you will be charged nothing. If you have asked me to fix several problems and I have only been able to fix some of them, I will reduce the fee accordingly. This does not apply to some areas where there are factors outwith my control.
- Free Follow-Up Support. You can always contact me without charge if you have any problems in relation to the work I have done. If I have to come in again, I will not charge you if it was something I should have dealt with first time round. (In most cases I should be able to assist by telephone or email.)
- Free Extra Work if the job takes me significantly less time than I had estimated in the negotiated fee. Sometimes a job is much simpler than expected, and the fee might have therefore have seemed a bit steep! In such a case, I will offer to carry out extra work - such as further upgrades, software installation, tuition, advice etc.
- Free Advice on how to prevent a recurrence of the problem. I will make sure you understand why the problem occurred and what you may need to do to avoid it happening again.
- Free General Diagnosis and Recommendations. As I go along I will be looking out for any other sources of potential problems with your computer(s), and making recommendations. If you want, I can also carry out a more extensive diagnosis as well, as part of the job.
Whilst I do not anticipate damaging your data, I would advise that before you have any work done on your computer by anyone, myself included, you back up all of your important data, preferably onto external media. I can do this for you, if you want, as part of the job.
