System AdministrationAlthough I have never worked in "Sys Admin" before, I do have a basic foundation in networking. I find the whole area quite fascinating and an interesting challenge, as managing a network is somewhat (!) more complex than simply dealing with standalone PC's. I successfully completed a PC Networking course at Lewisham College in 2001 and obtained the City and Guilds 7261-222 (Networking Level 2) qualification. The course was set at a significantly higher standard than the City and Guilds syllabus and was designed to prepare for the MCSE exams 70-58 (Networking Fundamentals), and 70-210/215 (Windows 2000). We studied, among other things, the various kinds of network configuration, the OSI Model, IP addresses, setting file and folder permissions in Windows 2000, how to use Windows 2000 to access network resources, etc., etc. This course has given me a strong foundation on which to learn about how to manage a network in real life, and I am willing and eager to take on any such training as would be necessary for me to become as System Administrator. |
