Beware of virus hoaxes which may warn you of a potential virus and ask you to delete or modify certain files on your computer. You may receive convincing sounding emails from well-meaning friends to this effect, or messages may appear on your pc asking you to download and install "software updates", "security fixes" etc. - some of these may be valid but if you are not sure check first.

Always check with a reliable source of information on virus hoaxes first, e.g. McAfee or Symantec.
